Your Day-by-Day Journey

The sequence below keeps the most important sightseeing experiences front and center. Visit order may be adjusted locally to suit reservations, traffic and site operations.

Day 1 | Arrive in Beijing – A First Glimpse of the Capital

ROUTE  Arrival transfer -> Hotel check-in -> Independent exploration

Arrive by air or rail and meet your private transfer for the journey into Beijing. After settling in, the rest of the day is yours: follow the water at Shichahai, step into the lanes around Nanluoguxiang, or take an evening stroll along Wangfujing and Qianmen.

Day 2 | The Imperial Heart from Square to Sky

ROUTE  Tiananmen Square -> Jingshan Park -> Forbidden City -> Temple of Heaven

Begin in the ceremonial scale of Tiananmen Square, then climb Jingshan for a sweeping view across the palace roofs. Enter the Forbidden City to walk through red-walled courtyards while your guide traces six centuries of imperial history. The day closes at the Temple of Heaven, from the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests to the geometry of the Circular Mound Altar.

Day 3 | Great Wall Ridges and Summer Palace Waters

ROUTE  Badaling Great Wall -> Peking University / Tsinghua University exterior views -> Summer Palace

Rise into the mountains for a walk along the Badaling section of the Great Wall. Returning to the city, pause for exterior views of two of China’s best-known universities before ending amid the pavilions, lake views and long horizons of the Summer Palace.

Day 4 | Mansions, Hutongs and Contemporary Beijing

ROUTE  Prince Gong’s Mansion -> Shichahai and hutong walk -> Olympic Park

Listen for stories of old Beijing in the courtyards and garden of Prince Gong’s Mansion. Continue through Shichahai and the surrounding hutongs, where gray-tiled roofs and neighborhood lanes bring the capital down to a human scale. Finish with the striking contemporary architecture of Beijing Olympic Park.

Day 5 | A Final Beijing Chapter and Departure

ROUTE  Choice of one cultural venue -> Private airport or railway-station transfer

Choose one final perspective on the capital: Tiananmen Gate Tower, the Great Hall of the People, or a museum such as the National Museum of China, China Science and Technology Museum, Military Museum, Beijing Planetarium, Capital Museum or Beijing Museum of Natural History. Afterwards, your private transfer takes you to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
