Daily Itinerary

Day 1

Into the Sandstone Peak Forest

City hotel pickup -> Golden Whip Stream -> Huangshi Village -> Yangjiajie -> Yuanjiajie -> Bailong Elevator

Begin beneath the canopy along Golden Whip Stream, where clear water threads between cliffs and forest. The route then climbs into the national forest park’s high country, moving through Huangshi Village and the natural ramparts of Yangjiajie.

At Yuanjiajie, viewpoints open across a dense field of freestanding sandstone pillars, including the formations that made Zhangjiajie’s landscape instantly recognisable worldwide. Descend through the vertical scenery by the Bailong Elevator before returning to the city for a Tujia-style dinner.

Day 2

Tianzi Mountain and Ten-Mile Gallery

Tianzi Mountain -> West Sea Peak Forest -> Imperial Brush Peaks -> Ten-Mile Gallery

Return to the national forest park for the elevated panoramas of Tianzi Mountain. The stone pillars stretch into the distance at West Sea Peak Forest, while named formations such as Imperial Brush Peaks and Fairy Offering Flowers invite a slower reading of the landscape.

Later, descend toward Ten-Mile Gallery, a long valley framed by sculptural peaks. The day is designed around changing perspectives – from broad mountain overlooks to rock forms seen from the valley floor – before a second shared dinner in Zhangjiajie.

Tianmen Mountain -> Cliffside paths -> Glass Skywalk -> Tianmen Cave -> Zhangjiajie city

Rise toward Tianmen Mountain for a final day above the city. Mountain paths and the glass skywalk trace the cliff edge, opening wide views across the surrounding ranges before the route approaches Tianmen Cave.

Walk beneath the vast natural arch and experience the mountain’s layered transport system, including the through-mountain escalators and sightseeing cableway. Views of the famous 99-bend road complete the journey before the programme ends in Zhangjiajie city.
